Right now Bangladeshi media is expanding in a huge rate. But if we just have a look towards 20 years back, we found only one television channel and a radio station over here. And both are directed by the government. Only a few newspapers were published by the privet sector then. After the era of 2000 the media started spreading their wings in a huge rate. Now a days Bangladesh has almost 22 television channel, 6 radio channel directed by the privet sector.
Now the question is why the media spreading their wings like this? The answer is very simple. As far as I'm experienced that the expansion is not to make a mature media industry. This is because the people who do power practices suddenly they feel that if they have any media house in their own belt they could do anything they want. At least they can hide there corruption in a smart way by using the media. I would like to open up these secrets. But in my next post.
